Almost half of the population in Indonesia lives below the poverty line. Despite compulsory education, almost 20% of children never attend school. Many of them must contribute to their families' household income by working from an early age. The Learning Farm (TLF) is an Indonesian NGO that since 2005 has set the goal of offering young people from the outermost margins of society a new perspective. In a training program, about 50-60 young people learn organic farming and develop values to positively change themselves and their community through tangible means. Organic farming teaches them to work with nature rather than against nature, it aims to teach them to work with society rather than against it: among others, they are taught to accept the benefits of diversity. Personal growth, communication/literacy and the importance of a healthy body and mind are the basic elements of TLF. The rate of successful reintegration upon completion of the program is 95%. Due to the pandemic, many donations are unfortunately being canceled and it is becoming increasingly difficult for TLF. The sale of the farm's own vegetables would at least help to cover the running costs. Jakarta is over 200 km away - TLF does not have a suitable truck with refrigeration to make this journey. Your donation contributes towards the purchase of a suitable vehicle. In this respect, you help to cover running costs, promote healthy nutrition and continue to support TLF in the fight against the lack of prospects.
